This video was taken as I was on my way to Hyderabad Airport in November 2009. These boys were collecting plastic bottles and other small plastic items to resell.
Some people may look at this in pity; but these boys are making the best of what they’ve been given. Aid to developing countries is a a contentious issue, especially in these ‘austere’ times - but I believe in giving people like these boys more of a chance. Give them a little and they’ll hopefully begin to make a lot.
If this is going to be the reaction each time one server does something malicious - I’m definitely going to set up n-way replication for all the services I run. Three times more expensive, but definitely goes a long way to prevent something like this ruining business.

New Job
I thought I’d initiate my tumblr account with some big news.
After 5 years happily working at Zednax, I am now on the move. From the 11th of July I shall be taking over the role of System Administrator at Mobile Fun.
It should be an exciting move for me. I’m looking forward to working with multiple-departments, and learning a bit more about MobileFun as a business. There also appears to be some imminent expansion to Germany, France, Holland and Spain.
It will also mean a move back to Birmingham from Manchester - which is going to be pretty sad.. but will allow me more time to help out with Bees Rugby and reunite me with a load of old friends.
